Ashley Nester brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the healthcare sector, with a career spanning over fifteen years as a registered nurse. Her clinical expertise is rooted in the high-pressure environments of the emergency department and the transformative settings of rehabilitation, where she has honed her skills in patient care and medical management. Ashley's commitment to furthering her education and impact in the healthcare field is evident in her academic achievements. She holds a master's degree in administration, showcasing her ability to merge clinical expertise with the strategic oversight required to navigate the complexities of healthcare management.
Currently, Ashley is expanding her horizons by pursuing a PhD with a focus on health equity, a testament to her dedication to addressing systemic disparities within the healthcare system. Her research and academic pursuits are geared towards creating a more inclusive and equitable healthcare landscape for all.
In addition to her clinical and academic pursuits, Ashley has made significant contributions to the administrative side of healthcare. She has worked with several Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs), taking on various clinical review roles. These positions have allowed her to apply her clinical knowledge to the broader context of healthcare policy and reimbursement, ensuring that patient care is both effective and compliant with regulatory standards.
Currently, Ashley plays a pivotal role in leading the Part B Appeals team for National Government Services, the MAC for J6 and JK regions. In this capacity, she leverages her extensive clinical experience, administrative acumen, and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations to oversee the appeals process, ensuring that healthcare providers and patients navigate the complexities of Medicare reimbursement effectively.
